I’m a photographer, not a terrorist

No rest for the wicked. After less than five hours of sleep following my leaving do, the alarm clock rang at 8:30AM for me to head off to London for the rally against terrorism laws infringing the simple right to take photographs on the street.

Strange feeling, going from the sheer happiness, drinking, and spending time with friends, to protesting for something you believe in. Fortunately, all was in good spirits, no police was seen, and generally we all had great time flashing for the various TV/press media people present.

Media coverage here, in the Guardian and here, on the BBC website, and even here, on CNN, for instance. We were more than 2000! Not bad for just a protest for photography!

A tribute to all who showed up!

(incidentally I’ve taken the 6000th image with my α700 during the gathering, heh – it’s the 3rd from the bottom, 2nd from right, in case you’re wondering, but you’re not)
