Sigma 10-20mm (f/4-5.6)

Just bought (May 2009), this ultra-wide zoom completes my “zoom range”, which now runs from 10 to 300mm with quite some overlap. The equivalent range on 35mm format is 15-30mm – that’s quite wide, considering that when I bought my first 35mm SLR I couldn’t get any better than 28mm as the widest.

Really looking forward to using this in cities, especially indoors (Gothic cathedrals :-)!), creative shots in general, landscapes, maybe funny portraits (although I’m not much into these), and the boring-but-useful “get all your friends in the room in one shot”.

Now might also be the time for my external flash unit (erm, for which I should still write an entry, sorry) which has both bounce capacity AND a diffusor to start to shine with this lens.

A review (or something like a review) will follow as soon as I have some photos to look at!
